Oil Painting

                 

I started two new paintings, and I decided to use oils, since they remain in a workable state for some time. I also wanted to use bright colours with their different values and tints. I chose two Quran short verses each consist of two words, and I made a quick sketch on 40×40 canvas. I want the background also to look natural, so I looked up through my natural effects and nature  images like my previous work. I want to incorporate natural effects and islamic designs into my works using traditional media then I’ll develop them using digital technology. The  meaning of the verse is: But give good tidings to the believers. I wrote with the Thuluth script for a change, and also for its unique aesthetic value…

I decided to integrate the Sqaured Kofic script in my painting so I would have two different scripts in one painting. I love the squared Kofic script… I find it very beautiful. I also like the result.

   

I added two inspirational photos that I used as a reference while I doing this art piece.

       

These are some experimentations I made using digital technology, which is a new photo editor software that I downloaded on my I Phone, it’s called FotoRus, it has some interesting effects and it’s extremely simple to use. Although altering the painting images is so simple I like the final outcome. Sometimes I need to add double effects or more to come up with the most satisfactory effect. These are some of the trials I made that I’m pleased with, and would like to print them out on canvas to see the quality of the colours. I have no idea on how to do this so I need to learn more about it.
